A room for slow looking.
Three simultaneous displays, with enough distance and quiet to read each image as an object. Two screens hold the anchor works. A large projection carries a slow sequence of the revised sculptures.
The preferred setup
| ELEMENT | PROPOSAL | PURPOSE |
|---|---|---|
| Room | Approximately 8 × 10 m, 3.5 m ceiling. Dim charcoal walls or black drape; controlled daylight. | Space for 2–4 m viewing distances and a clear central route. |
| Two screens | Two 65-inch, portrait-rated displays on opposite side walls. Active image approximately 0.81 × 1.44 m; centre around 1.75 m above floor. | Continuous presentations of Work 01 and Matter 04. |
| Projection | 3.2 × 1.8 m image on the back wall. Select the projector and lens after measuring throw distance and ambient light. | The new sculptures at a larger-than-body scale. |
| Playback | A computer per independent display is simplest. A capable multi-output machine is another option, after testing each browser output at the target resolution. | Three clean outputs without competing controls. |
| Sound | Optional: a quiet, original stereo work from two speakers near the projection wall. Keep a silent viewing version available. | A shared atmosphere rather than three soundtracks competing. |
| Seating | One low central bench, about 1.8 m long, behind the main viewing area. The lime seat in the preview is a color proposal. | Encourage a longer visit without making the screens into a cinema. |
| Circulation | Plan a roughly 1.5 m entry/clear route; verify access, mounting, cables, power and exits with the venue. | The dimensions in the model are a proposal, not a surveyed or approved installation plan. |
How it runs
The two side works remain continuous. The projection holds each selected sculpture for about 90 seconds, with three-second fades at the boundaries. The single-display program presents Work 01, Matter 04, and two revised sculptures over roughly six minutes, then continues.
There is no interface over the output. Press F for fullscreen, Q to change render resolution, and Space to hold. Number keys select manually and exit the automatic sequence.
Start with one screen
For a first showing, borrow a large display and a computer, dim the room, add a seat, and run the slow program. A 65-inch landscape display is enough to test image scale, timing and the relationship with your sound. No projector purchase is needed for that test.
Record a short fixed-camera view of a person watching, a close view of one work, and the transition between pieces. Use that documentation alongside the process page when introducing the collection.
Before a public showing
Test a complete program on the actual playback machine. Check motion, fullscreen persistence, color, heat and sustained frame rate. Disable screen savers and notifications, conceal cables, and keep a local copy of the source package available. Exact hardware and brightness have not been specified or tested here.
The 3D walkthrough is a silent, scaled proposal. Its live artwork textures are rendered at reduced resolution for preview performance; the individual artwork pages offer higher output resolution. The room preview and full browser/projector integration still require device testing.
